FOUR people have been arrested after allegedly attacking a white professor for her comments on the treatment of black people in Florida.
More:The teacher, who has not been named, was among about 200 people gathered at a Florida bar on Saturday to discuss the Black Lives Matter movement when the group began shouting at her, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement.
The group of about 20 students chanted “we’re not white, we’re black” and started throwing things, she said.
After a few students ran off, a group of several students followed the group and began beating the professor, she added.
As they assaulted her, she managed to run into the bar and called 911.
A video of the incident posted on Twitter shows several people trying to break up the brawl, but failing.
“I just want to make sure I’m not a racist, but this is what we have here,” one of the students says in the video.
“You guys are all fucking idiots, and we are all going to get arrested.”
“We don’t want you in here,” another student says.
“We don, we don’t care about you.”
The students have been charged with resisting arrest, resisting arrest with violence, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery, Bondi’s office said.
