NEW YORK — As a fourth-grader, you may have been taught about science and math in preschool.
Or maybe you have been exposed to a range of other subjects, from a history of art to the art of origami.
But in your early years, you have the option of choosing the most effective curriculum to help you achieve your educational goals.
“The fourth grade is a period of growth, and as you grow, you can have a lot of learning,” says Linda St. James, an associate professor of psychology at New York University.
“You’re not just learning from books and movies.”
A New York City-based nonprofit called the National Center for Arts and Learning (NCAL) has a list of what is considered a 4th-grade curriculum, and it is available online at the organization’s website.
Here are the top 4 topics taught in 4th grades: 1.
